Indian economy is growing at a very steady pace, whether it is agriculture, medicine, engineering or fashion, Indian economy is at its best phase. When we talk about fashion, footwear plays a very important role. Along with fashion wear, accessories such as leather goods play a very vital part. Keeping this in mind, Ministry of Commerce has poured in fresh investment in the field of footwear and leather goods industry.

FDDI is one of its kind institute which offers one of the best facilities to its students. They have very experienced faculty which not only make the student understand the theoretical aspect of the industry but also make use that the students understand the practical aspect involved in manufacturing the footwear and leather products.

In order to understand all the steps in manufacturing a product it is very important to have a closer look at the manufacturing process therefore the students are taken to various industrial tours to various factories where students get an opportunity to understand the manufacturing process up close and personal. They are showed how the customers demand is brought on to paper and a rough sketch is prepared. Once the rough sketch is finalised then a sample product is manufactured and is sent for approval. There are various buyers who look very deeply into the sample product and send it for quality assurance. If the quality department approves the sample then the final quotation is sent and then the mass manufacturing is started after signing in the deal.


All this is taught during the tenure of the course and made sure that the students’ understand the market dynamics and are able to understand how to price the product in order to command a demand in the market and also make a profit on their produce.
