India aiming to become worlds number 1 in the coming few years in the field of footwear and leather technology



FDDI which stands for footwear design and development institute is one of the most reputed institute in India which offers variety of courses for students who are interested in pursuing a career in leather and footwear industry. Recently it has been seen that there has been a lot of support from the ministry of commerce in order to uplift this industry.

The FDDI bill has recently been passed in the Lok Sabha and will shortly will be passed in the Rajya Sabha. The reason to support this industry is that the Ministry of Commerce has seen a great lot of potential in the leather goods and footwear industry. At the moment, India is still not able to full fill its domestic demand as well as international demand. The aim is to fulfil all the demand which is coming from the rest of the world so that the country can earn foreign exchange. Right now all this surplus demand from the west is being fulfilled by China which is currently world’s number one in production of leather goods and footwear.


Unfortunately in the recent past because of the FDDI degree mamla ,there was a shortage of students seeking admission in the institute ,but now it has been resolved and is now recognised all over the world. In fact FDDI offers a variety of undergraduate as well as post graduate course to its students which are highly in demand in the world market. The curriculum is very exhaustive and exposes students to all aspects of the design and development of leather goods and footwear. Therefore when the student passes out of the course, they are well aware of the market demand and are thoroughly prepared to take the challenge. It is predicted that in the coming few years India will supersede China and will become world’s number 1 as more and more students are opting to study footwear design and development and contribute towards the Indian economy.
