India heading to beat China in production of footwear and leather goods in the coming future

Finally the FDDI entrance exams have just got over and candidates who applied for various courses are now desperately waiting for their results which will be announced shortly. FDDi held its joint entrance exam AIST for various courses which proved to be very popular.
In the recent past the Ministry of Commerce has provided a lot of support to the leather goods industry and footwear industry as it has seen that it has a very large potential as far as FDI is concerned. There is an immense demand for leather good and footwear from the international market, however their norms and requirements are very specific therefore, it is very important to inculcate proper understanding of the manufacturing and designing industry.

In the past due to lack of skilled resources India had to turn down the international demand which eventually went to China. Currently China is world number one in manufacturing of leather goods and footwear. In order to become worlds number 1 not only India need to provide the final product at a price lower than China but also adhere to the demand and requirement of the client.


Therefore, the ministry of commerce has approved the FDDI bill in the Lok Sabha, and has also plunged in fresh investment in this sector. FDDI has also decided to open 5 new institutes all across India so that more and more students can get educated and trained and thus can contribute to the industry. Students are also very confident about FDDI as they have done enough research about job prospects and they are quite sure that not only does it provide a satisfying career but also a lucrative career which is here to stay for a very long period of time.
