FDDI opening up new avenues for the youth of India in the field of development and design or footwear and leather goods



It has been envisaged that India is heading towards becoming the world’s superpower in all aspects. It has been seen that there have been areas where development is quite evident. One of these areas is in fact the education sector. Apart from medicine colleges and engineering colleges, Ministry of Commerce is keeping in mind the design and development sector.

India has always been very resourceful whether it is natural products such as fabric or leather but also manpower. Keeping this in mind the ministry of commerce wants to excel in this field and is incorporating development and design skills amongst the youth of India.

Footwear development and design Institute which is also known as the FDDI is one such example of such educational institutes which facilitates undergraduate as well as post graduate courses to students who wants to pursue a career in the field of footwear development and design and manufacturing of leather goods. There has been an inflow of investment by the Government of India in order to extend facilities for institutes which foster the growth of such sectors.


In the recent past there has been a keen interest from the candidate to seek admission in these courses. The admission is through an entrance exam which is an online entrance exam to be held on 7th June 2017-9th June 2017,based on which the candidates will be called for counselling and then can select their courses and campuses. A candidate can opt for more than 1 course in either the undergraduate or the post graduate category, without paying twice however, if he wishes to apply for an undergraduate course as well as a post graduate course then he is required to pay the fees twice which is 500 RS which can be paid online with the help of a credit card or a debit card.
