FDDI catering to all the sectors as far as footwear is concerned

The first exam for the admission to footwear design and development institute took place yesterday and the other exams are to follow in the coming days. It was astonishing to see applicants in large number who sat for the exam. In fact it is being said that this time there has been a record breaking number of applicants who have sat for the exam, which has made the competition very hard, however with an increasing number of skilled resources needed for the footwear and leather good s industry,FDDI has decided to open 5 more institutes so that it can accommodate more and more students who can get skilled and contribute to the footwear and leather goods sector
In the past, there wasn’t much demand for footwear unlike apparel, however the trend has now changed and people are becoming more and more demanding as far as footwear and leather accessories are concerned. It’s not only because of fashion but also because of need. India is a country with diverse climate, where very light weight and airy footwear is needed during summers and well-padded footwear is needed during winters. Therefore keeping in mind adverse weather conditions at least 2 pairs of shoes are a must for everybody, sadly according to statistics it was seen that Indians on an average have only 1 pair of footwear when compared to the west whose average of around 5-6.

This gap is quite a lot and not very healthy for the Indian consumers. Not that they do not demand good quality footwear but are not able to afford it,therefore, the FDDI had come up with a budget range of footwear which were priced very low so that the people below the poverty line can also afford it.On the other hand FDDI also designed footwear for police and air force who have special need footwear catering to their job.
