Candidate preparing hard to secure a seat in Footwear design and development institute, exam is due to be held in June

Youngsters now a days are looking for new and more creative career opportunities. Apart from being a doctor or an engineer there are many other career opportunities which are attracting young applicants. One such career opportunity is indeed in the field of creative department. Whether it is fashion designing or footwear manufacturing, India is growing leaps and bounds. However there were not many institutes before FDDI where students could study and get skilled in the field of footwear design and development and leather technology.

Seeing the immense demand in the field of leather goods and footwear, Footwear design and development institute was developed in the year 1986 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Today FDDI has spread its wing across all over India with its main campus located at Noida and other campuses in Fursatganj (Near Lucknow), Chennai, Kolkata, Chhindwara, Rohtak, Jodhpur, Guna, Ankleshwar (Gujarat), Chandigarh, Hyderabad & Patna.

The government of India has decided to support the footwear sector and hence FDDI is due to open an additional 5 more campuses by the end of 2017.There was a brief period where the FDDI degree was in trouble, but it has now been resolved and is attracting more and more students to undertake various undergraduate and post graduate courses in footwear design and development.

The course is so much in demand that in order to seek admission in any of the course a candidate needs to clear an entrance exam, after which they are called for counselling. Based on the counselling they can select their choice of campus. This year the exam is scheduled to be held on 7th June-9th June and is being held all over India.
