Why the youth of India are choosing FDDI for their further education

Gone are those days when parents would want their children to only become doctors and engineers, in today’s world there are ample number of options one of which is fashion and apparel. When we talk about fashion and apparel then the list does not end. If you are thinking of just clothing then you are absolutely wrong as, leather goods especially footwear plays a significant role in defining fashion. Apart from footwear there are leather bags and accessories which form an essential part of any body’s personality.

Keeping this immense demand of leather and footwear demand the ministry of commerce has realised the vast potential of foreign exchange from the west by capturing the demand from international world. Currently unfortunately due to lack of skilled resources this demand is not been completely met by India and the majority of the share is being passed on to china.

Keeping this in mind FDDI which is the footwear design and development institute is trying to increase its capacity of intake of students by building in new institutes by the end of this year. In the recent past due to the FDDI degree mamla there was a lack of interest by students, but now it has been resolved and more and more students are expressing interest towards pursuing various graduate as well as post graduates’ courses in the field of footwear and leather good sector. Not only it’s a lucrative field but is also very interesting as it helps the student understand both the practical aspect of the footwear industry but also helps then in understanding the techniques which are used in, manufacturing the footwear and leather goods. If this trend continues then it’s not too far away that India will become world’s number 1 in production of leather goods and footwear
