India aiming to become world’s number one in footwear and leather good industry



FDDI also known as footwear design and development institute is all around the news and that too for all the good reason. With the FDDI degree mamla being resolved and the FDDI bill being passed in the Lok Sabha , FDDI has become one of the top institutes which offer various courses in design and development of footwear.

Its popularity has increased manifold since its inspection which is clearly evident by the number of applicants who came for the exam. The entrance exam for various courses in FDDI are on and will be going till 11th June. The FDDI offers both undergraduate as well post graduate courses in both footwear and leather technology.

With a growing demand for footwear by both the India consumers as well as international players, there has been a lot of job opportunities in the recent years. Footwear and leather goods manufacturing industry is going through a period of boom and is therefore one of the most lucrative professions in both India as well as abroad.

However one needs to understand there is a widespread competition in order to seek admission in FDDI as more and more students have shown interest and there has been a record breaking number of students who have sat for the exam. Having said that the FDDI has realised that it is better for the Indian in economy to have more and more skilled resources so that it can full fill the growing demand from both international players as well as domestic demand. That is the reason why FDDI has decided to open yet another 5 institutes so that more students can seek admission, Currently India is the most preferred market for production of leather goods but we have to turn down the demand as we do not have ample resources to cater to the growing demand and thus losing on foreign exchange.

AIST exam for FDDI

Footwear design and development institute will be holding a joint entrance exam AIST  on 7 th June-9 th June 2017.The exam will be held for various undergraduate courses as well as post graduate courses. Students who are interested in pursuing any of these courses will have to sit for the entrance exam which is a multiple type questions and will be done on the computer. Candidates can either take the test in Hindi or English. The exam is also open for foreign nationals .Since the exam is very popular among students therefore there is a very hard competition which exists. It is wise to prepare for the exam well in advance. The footwear design and development institute is one of the most renounced institute in India which offers quality education to its students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses as well as post graduate course in leather and footwear goods.
