India trying its level best to become world’s number 1 in production of leather goods.

The footwear design and development institute is one of the most renounced institute in India which offers quality education to its students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses as well as post graduate course in leather and footwear goods.

Apart from offering undergraduate courses and post graduate courses it also offer a 5 year integrated course which clubs the undergraduate course with the post graduate course. However it is only offered in 2 of its campuses namely Rohtak and NOIDA. With the growing demand for footwear and leather goods both in India as well as internationally ,there is a greater need of skilled manpower which can cater to this ever increasing demand.,

Sadly in the recent past, in spite of India being a preferred partner was unable to cater to 100% of the demand, as it had less skilled manpower. Therefore the surplus demand was catered by China which eventually became world number 1 in production of leather goods and footwear industry.

The demand is not only coming from the developed nations but also domestically. In the past where the average shoe worn by a common man in India was only 1 or 2, however now it is increasing, though still quite low. The main aim of FDDI is to provide footwear of all kinds to all kind of people weather rich or poor. Therefore they are not only manufacturing for special kind of need such as the police, army etc. who need robust shoes which can do well in adverse climatic conditions but also budget shoes for the poorer people who cannot afford expensive shoes. Other than catering to the local demand they are also taking great care to understand the requirements of the international client and thus doing quite well.
